1.3 LITERATURE SEARCH
Searching the literature is a fundamental step to your research.
By doing the literature search, you
might find 6 (six) types of scientific articles that could be used as references. You are highly encouraged to
find and read carefully the primary literature that matches your interest. Here are some efficient ways of
searching for the best pieces of literature worldwide:
- By using SCIMAGO to find the Scopus-Indexed Journals in the Subject Area or Subject Categories which meet your research interest. Please recognize and bookmark the Top 10 Reputable Journals in your fields (ranked in Q1) in your PC-browser. Visit the web journal regularly. Carefully read the articles of the journal on a daily basis. Assignments: (1) Please share the Screenshot of the Bookmark in your PC-browser. (2) Share at least 5 articles that most interesting you in this way. (3) Resume each article with only one or two sentences in Table 1.
- By using WoS to find the journals indexed in the Web of Science (WoS). After refining your search results, please consider the Impact Factor (IF) by activating the FILTER-button of Journal Citation Reports (included in 2019 JCR). Please recognize and bookmark the Top 10 Reputable Journals that relates to your field of study. Visit the web journal regularly. Carefully read the articles of the journal on a daily basis. Assignments; (1) Please share the Screenshot of the Bookmark in your PC-browser. (2) Share at least 5 articles that most interesting you in this way. (3) Resume each article with only one or two sentences in Table 1.
- By using SINTA to find the Accredited National Journals. Please recognize and bookmark the Top 10 National Journals in your Subject Area by clicking on “S1 and/or S2 button” which stand for Sinta 1 and Sinta 2 categories respectively. Visit the web journal regularly. Carefully read the articles of the journal on a daily basis. Assignments; (1) Please share the Screenshot of the Bookmark in your PC-browser. (2) Share at least 5 articles that most interesting you in this way. (3) Resume each article with one or two sentences in Table 1.
- By using Reference Managers such as Mendeley or Zotero. Create a free account, then download and install the software on your desktop. Please manage your reference folders and use MS. Word plug-in to cite the reference automatically. Use the Mendeley for searching for articles regularly. Carefully read the articles of the journal on a daily basis. Assignments; (1) Please share the Screenshot of the Mendeley or Zotero on your desktop. (2) Share at least 5 articles that most interesting you in this way. (3) Resume each article with one or two sentences in Table 1.
- By using Google Scholar for instance browsing, however, you might find fake articles. So please confirm that the article you’ve searched for was not involved in Predatory Journals or Predatory Publisher. Please use Google Scholar for searching the articles regularly. Carefully read the articles of the journal on a daily basis. Assignments; (1) Share at least 5 articles that most interesting you in this way. (2) Please mention the name of the journal, publisher, WoS impact factor (IF) or Scopus Quartile (Q1/Q2/Q3/Q4) for each journal (3) Resume each article with only one or two sentences Table 1.

Assignments. According to the daily activities on searching literature you will have at least 25 articles. Each article will have one or two sentences of the resume as your conclusion. Please collect all resume in a table below (landscape orientation).

Save the table in MS. Excel Format. It will help you to analyze the collection based on the name of the publisher, year, journals, journal rank, etc. You can develop this table and expand it daily, as long as you join this course.
